Dr. Panagiota Riga was born in Athens in 1968. In 1986 she successfully entered the School of Medicine in the University of Athens, obtaining a scholarship from the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation.

After graduating, she completed her internship at the Healthcare Centre of Diakopto and then specialised in Pathology at Metaxa Hospital.

She chose to do her Dermatology residency in the Andreas Syggros Hospital, the most dedicated Dermatology Centre in Greece, where she remained from 1996 until 2000.

From 2000 to 2002, she received further training in the special Dermatologic Surgery Department at the same hospital.

At the same time, as a fellow of the University Clinic, she worked on sexually transmitted diseases and, in particular, patients suffering from HPV infections, which served as the starting point for her doctoral thesis.

Finally, she volunteered to work in the AIDS patients unit for one year.



Panagiota Riga has specialized in major areas of aesthetic dermatology, such as mesotherapy (specialisation training in France), laser applications in dermatology, injectable implants and botox (annual attendance of selective training courses in new techniques).

The doctor has been invited to the University Clinic of Syggros Hospital, in order to participate in the new residents' education, and she attends many congresses both as a speaker and a trainer. She has also worked with many companies as a trainer physician, as well as with cosmetic product companies for the development of new products.

Moreover, Panagiota Riga has specialized in the University of Graz in Austria on the field of dermatoscopy, a technique aiming at a more precise diagnosis of dermatological conditions and at the prevention of skin cancer.

Her practice is equipped with one of the most reliable mole mapping and monitoring systems (Molemax hybrid).

Over the past 20 years, she has been operating a fully equipped private practice, with the aim to provide high quality medical services.
