The mapping is performed by means of MOLEMAX HD, a system of two digital cameras. It enables us to take images of the entire body by area and assign every mole to a body area. One camera takes magnified pictures of the moles producing dermatoscopic images, i.e. high resolution and detail images.
Each mole is scored and classified using to special scoring systems, the ABCD score and 7-point rule. Most importantly we are able to establish the risk of each mole to develop into melanoma. MOLEMAX HD enables us to monitor moles over time recording even minor changes, but also to observe the appearance of new ones. It is therefore valuable for the prevention of melanoma.
